For some time now I've been thinking of having some canvas pictures made from some of our photos taken on our Bushtracker travels.

I got around to organising this recently and received the pictures this week.

We put them up on a wall in our house today and they worked out well.

The tellie will be getting a larger furniture base unit under it soon and that will raise it and fill that blank wall around it a bit better.

From left to right, the places are:

First Row:
1. Ord River from Argyle Dam wall
2. Beach at Barn Hill Station on WA's Pilbara coast.
3. Bank of the Gwydir River near Bingara in NSW.
4. Great Australian Bight.
5. Sommerville Park out of Stanthorpe in QLD
Second Row:
1. Bilyuin Pool near Meekathara in WA.
2. Panorama shot of Lennard River crossing on the western end of Gibb River Road.
3. A reflection in very still water in a small offshoot on the Ord River.
4. Calliope River campsite in QLD.
Third Row:
1. Leichhardt Falls south of Burketown in QLD.

The camera is a Sony SLR SLT A-55V. I have the aspect ratio set to 16X9. This allows me to put them on a thumbdrive and have a full screen slideshow on the TV.

It takes panoramas automatically when I select that function.

All the regular size prints are 600 by 350 mm and the panorama is 1550 by 350.

I had them done by this company:

Thanks Steve,

I occasionally take a picture worth showing other people. They have certainly put some colour into that room.

Here they are:

Bilyuin Pool out of Meekatharra was a very pretty place. Right on the water's edge and only a few other campers there. We had a very pleasant campfire there.

The beach at Barn Hill station on WA's Pilbara coast was so colourful. The red soil against the white beach. Just beautiful. This is a very popular spot.

We left Derby and entered the Gibb River Road and decided to check one campsite out for morning coffee. When we pulled in there were a bunch of Bushtrackers already there so we thought, this will do for an overnighter. This is Lennard River Crossing.

Calliope River crossing. In 2010 we stayed on the north bank. This last trip, 2011, we stayed on the southern bank. Chatted with 2 other Bushtracker owners there.

The Ord River viewed from Argyle Dam wall. The tour with Triple J Tours was excellent. Last wet season (a biggie) they let enough water out of the dam each day that would supply Perth for a year. Difficult to get your head around that one. Let's get that pipeline built.

The Great Australian Bight. Beautiful blue water. You can never get sick of looking at those cliffs.

This amazingly still water producing that beautiful reflection was in a little offshoot of the Ord River on the tour mentioned above.

Gwydir River at Bingara in NSW. We had seen this spot on another BT owners blog and thought we must go there. This was on the way home from Delivery Day in 2009. It was over 40 degrees and we ended up putting our chairs in the river and sitting in them. splashing water on us to cool off.

In 2010 we travelled with some friends who are veteran outback travellers and we stopped overnight at Leichhardt Falls south of Burketown. Leichhardt's bones are scattered somewhere out here. Beautiful spot with running water lulling us to sleep.

Again, on the way home from Delivery Day in late 2009 we stopped at Sommerville Park just out of Stanthorpe in QLD. A very peaceful place.

Here are some more from Barn Hill Station:

There are 2 other Bushtrackers in this photo. Everywhere you go, there are BTs out there.

What beautiful photos you are certainly a good photographer.

Which company did you use to put he photos on the canvas.

I would love to get one or two on an aluminum backing...tain't cheap though, so Allan not as keen.

Hope you have a grand time in Denmark (WA).

Cheers

Allan and Sharon
